Malaysia has been a source of well over 100,000 international students in recent years. Recent developments have slowed growth in the Malaysia market, yet the market remains one of Asia's largest and the quality of the students is excellent. However, it can be a difficult and expensive market to target. There are numerous education shows, far too many private colleges for the market (over 800 private colleges for a population of just over 22 million people), and advertising costs are steadily increasing. However, with careful planning and sensible marketing, Malaysia can be an excellent source of good students.
